Berlin, Dahlem, 12. November 2022 14:00 to 0:00

The DAAD Berlin alumni invites the DAAD scholars and Freundeskreis members for a Guided Tour through Dahlem (across the campus of the Free University).

The tour, arranged by the Max-Planck-Institute, will be held in English.

The first splitting of the atom, revolutions in fertilizing the soil, modern genetics – Many scientific innovations had their origin in Berlin-Dahlem. There in 1912 the ‚Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gesellschaft‘  established a top-class research centre, a kind of ‚German Oxford‘.  Today this science campus is kept up and run by the Max-Planck-Gesellschaft and Berlin Free University. The guided tour will trace the marks and point out the institutes of various Noble Prize winners, will lead to milestones in the history of science and  tell the stories of their male (and female!) protagonists.
