Munich, 24. August 2022 18:00 to 0:00

Our first alumni get-together in a long while revolves around the topic „turning point in China – where is the journey going?“

Two DAAD alumni and China “veterans” talk about their personal experiences and assessments:

Engelbert Boos, the first non-sinologist DAAD scholarship holder in China in the 1980s, has lived and worked in China for many years. A. o. the CEO and founder of CMN-The China Management Network Ltd., he analyzes current economic policy trends and is our host together with his wife Christine, managing partner of CMN and co-author of the standard work “The China Management Handbook”.

Jochen Müller also has several years of experience in China, first as a student at the Beijing Language and Culture University, then as an intern at Audi, also in Beijing. As a DAAD scholarship holder, he did a master’s degree in International Relations at Beijing University in 2013-2015.

With their insights and assessments as a starting point, taken together with the topics foregrounded by the media – from the impact of the zero Covid strategy to human rights, from the China Science Investigation to China’s Taiwan strategy – we expect a lively discussion.

After the “official” part we are invited to refreshments and snacks.
