Munich, 2. May 2019 10:00 to 12:30

A regular guest conductor with the Munich Philharmonic MPhil (and other international top-notch orchestras), Canadian soprano Barbara Hannigan can make even ‘difficult’ music accessible and enjoyable like hardly anybody else. ‘One of the great musicians on this planet’ (Sir Simon Rattle) will both conduct and sing an intriguing programme focusing on Hungary:

BÉLA BARTÓK: Rhapsodie Nr. 1 für Violine und Orchester Sz 87
JOSEPH HAYDN: Symphonie Nr. 86 D-Dur Hob. I:86
GYÖRGY LIGETI: »Concert Românesc« für Orchester
GYÖRGY KURTÁG: »Zur Erinnerung an einen Winterabend« für Sopran, Violine und Zymbal
BÉLA BARTÓK: »Der wunderbare Mandarin« op. 19

The RG Munich attends the final rehearsal.
