The RG Munich travels to Landshut to experience the medieval spectacle Landshut Wedding, which is finally taking place again after a six-year break due to Corona.

The Landshut Wedding is one of the biggest medieval festivals in Europe with around 2,400 participants from the region. Several 100,000 visitors from all over the world are expected. The festival commemorates the marriage of Duke George the Rich to Hedwig, daughter of the Polish king, which took place in Landshut in 1475. The celebrations were attended by many of the highest-ranking European princes, and the unification of the two royal houses was seen as strengthening the Catholic bulwark against the threat of the Ottomans.

In the course of a city tour in English in the morning  we follow the traces of the Middle Ages in this historically important city.
