Munich, 22. January 2023 11:00 to 0:00

Marking the 20th anniversary of the Pinakothek der Moderne, the curators of Moderne Kunst cooperated in rearranging the collection and came up with a new display characterised by a spirit of curiosity and experimentation. It invites visitors to rediscover the artworks in unconventional juxtapositions that transcend epochs, styles, and media.

The RG Munich visits this innovative exhibition which features 350 key works of painting, sculpture, photography, video and installation art, and printmaking. They shed a new light on topics of vital relevance to 21st-century life, such as community, migration, work, the environment, and conflict and violence.

Artists included are, to name just a few, Herbert Achternbusch, Georg Baselitz, Max Beckmann, Robert Delaunay, Max Ernst, Alexej Jawlensky, Wassily Kandinsky, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Paul Klee, Oskar Kokoschka, Maria Lassnig, René Magritte, Jonathan Meese, A. R. Penck, Pablo Picasso, Gerhard Richter, Rosemarie Trockel, Andy Warhol.

The Pinakothek der Moderne actually houses four individual museums, dedicated to (Modern and Contemporary) Art, Prints and Drawings, Design, and Architecture. All are accessible with the same 1 euro ticket, except the special exhibitions.
