Franz Schubert: his last three piano sonatas played on a historical instrument

The regional group Munich will witness a rare (and free) concert in the Große Aula of LMU, staged by the Musicology Department: Schubert’s poignant last three piano sonatos D 958–960, written in September 1828,  performed by Tobias Koch,  internationally renowned expert musician for historical keyboard instruments.

Tobias Koch plays a wonderful instrument made by Nanette Streicher (Vienna 1825) which is owned by the Musicology Institute. Only very few instruments of its type (mechanism of hammers hitting from above) are still existing, hardly any of them fit to be played.
With a brief introduction by musicology professor Dr. Hartmut Schick.
