Berlin Mitte, 11. June 2022 15:00 to 0:00

The development of the greater city area of Berlin-Coelln began from the boarders of the river Spree, and a number of its most important buildings, such as the palace, the Zeughaus, and Schinkel’s Bauakademie, were built there. The ensemble of the Museum Island is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The guided tour covers an arc of urban and cultural history from Berlin’s beginnings to the present day and recalls a chapter of GDR history, not least with the new development of Fischerinsel, which began in 1965.

The guided tour will be conducted by Wolfgang Feyerabend in German. Some parts of the content can be translated to English and you can ask questions in English as well, but it is recommended to have at least a basic knowledge of German.

Interested people are kindly requested to register by Wednesday, June 8, by replying to fk-berlin@daad-alumni.de.
