Munich, 26. March 2018 18:30 to 0:00

Two case studies demonstrate the effects of globalization and modernization in specific contexts. Our event for DAAD alumni and current scholarhip holders alike devotes itself to ‚Questioning the sustainability of transnational urban and rural development: the cases of land tenure in Colombia and water governance in Vietnam.‘ In the course of her masters’ project at TU Munich, DAAD alumna Johanna Bastos from Colombia looked into ‚Large Scale Land Base Investment and Farmers Associations as Factors that Influence Changes in Land Tenure in Rural Areas in Colombia.‘ Lucía Wright-Contreras (USA + Mexico), scholarship holder and PhD candidate at TU Darmstadt, explores how the global water operator partnership between Dutch Vitens-Evides International and the Da Nang Water Company ensures the sustainable management of water (and sanitation) for all in Hanoi.

We will have a slide show related to the projects and a party with music from Colombia and Vietnam.

Our MC for the evening is DAAD alumnus PD Dr. Sascha Pöhlmann. The event is hosted by the Munich Innovator Space e. V., an initiative started by several start-up founders and supported by the city of Munich, whose goal is to enable discussion to solve current and upcoming challenges for societies.
