The next Heidelberg Talks Online session takes place on Friday, June 3, 7-8.30 pm CEST (GMT/UTC +2). The topic will be “Rebels into Stakeholders and Democratization: Looking at India and Colombia comparatively”


The speakers will be: 

Prof. Subrata K. Mitra, Ph.D. (Rochester), Emeritus Professor of Political Science at Heidelberg University and Adjunct Professor at Dublin City University. Comparative politics and foreign
policy are among his main interests. His recent books include Governance by Stealth: The Ministry of Home Affairs and the Making of the Indian State (Delhi: OUP; 2021);

Nicolás Jaramillo, Doctoral Fellow in Sociology at Heidelberg University. The KAAD scholarship holder and DAAD alumnus received his M.A. in Sociology at UNAL in Bogotá and, as an expert
in the field, co-coordinates the lecture series “Citizenship, Integrity and Fight against Corruption”. He is an active member of the Latin American Studies Association, among others.
