Heidelberg Talks Online about biodiversity

The topic is:

Conservation of biodiversity and natural habitats in Madagascar –
sustainable strategies through education, science and capacity building

The speaker will be Dr. Hanitra Markolf Rakotonirina, biologist and coordinator of a biodiversity conservation program in Madagascar for the NGO “Chances for Nature”. She holds a Bachelor degree in Natural Sciences and a Master degree in Biology, Ecology and Conservation from the University of Antananarivo/Madagascar and received a PhD in Biology from the University of Göttingen/Germany, where her research focused on the behavioural biology of lemurs (her doctoral fieldwork was conducted in the Kirindy Forest in western Madagascar). Hanitra also serves as a Technical Advisor at the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and is a co-founder of the Association Ikala STEM, an initiative dedicated to promoting STEM education in Madagascar
