On Oct. 2nd 13 scholarship holders (students of architecture and of various other disciplines) and 3 alumni of the Berlin Freundeskreis travelled to the historical Bauhaus-City Dessau to have a look at the restored Bauhaus-School, the so-called „Masters‘ Houses“ of Walter Gropius and others, the last year newly opened Bauhaus-Museum and at the Dessau-district of Törten (Bauhaus constructions).

Through these visits the group got familiar with the major Bauhaus ideas, such as:

  • how to find ways from art to industrial production,
  • how to introduce a modern lifestyle through light, air and respect for human dimensions,
  • last but not least: how to combine work, housing and leisure.
