München, 23. July 2023 8:00 to 0:00

A joint full-day city trip takes the RGs Munich and Erlangen-Nuremberg to beautiful Regensburg, a city with an illustrious history dating back to Roman times. The medieval old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

First we are shown around the old town by a DAAD alumnus who is a Regensburg native. After a boat tour on the Danube with a stop at the Walhalla, we return to Regensburg and visit a beergarden together.

The Walhalla is one of the most important buildings going back to King Ludwig l. of Bavaria (1825-48). It represents a pantheon of Great Germans, years before the founding of the German Empire in 1871, and brings art and politics together in a way that was unique in Germany at the time.
