Regional Group Aachen

Stipendiaten bei einer Führung auf dem Lousberg

Welcome to the Tri-Border Area!

Go sightseeing in the Netherlands in the morning, enjoy a music festival in Belgium in the evening – no problem if you’re in Aachen! The old imperial city of Aachen has a lot to offer, and we would like to discover it afresh with you.

Would you like to get to know Aachen and the region better or find out more about Germany and German history, culture and traditions? Then you’ve come to the right place! We would like to introduce you to Germany and the Germans and help you to feel at home here.

Stipendiaten bei einer Müllsammelaktion der Stadt Aachen

At the beginning of the semester, we generally meet for a friendly get-together to welcome new scholarship holders to Aachen and to see familiar faces. We also try to organise other activities several times a year: e.g. ice-skating, bowling, minigolf, visits to museums and concerts, cycling tours, walking tours, barbecue or games evenings and much more. And we are always open to suggestions and new ideas!

German nationals who are interested in cross-cultural exchange are also very welcome! What is more, we still need more hosts for the host family programme “Deutschland hautnah – Germany behind the scenes”. They should be prepared to invite a scholarship holder to their home for an afternoon or weekend.
