Regional Group Dresden
20 Years Old, but Still Young and Dynamic
The regional group of the DAAD Alumni & Friends in the town of TU Dresden and the nearby TU Bergakademie Freiberg has existed since 1996. We are committed former DAAD scholarship holders: some of us are still students, some of us have just started our careers, and some of us are old stagers.
Every year, we put together a superb programme for the DAAD scholarship holders. Traditional activities include a Saxon Advent evening and a summer party. And every year we think up something new.
Trips to the scenic Dresden region, walking tours in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains, a visit to the short film festival in Dresden or other cultural events. We begin each academic year with a traditional stroll around town for all new arrivals! This is an occasion to meet and get to know one another. Many friends are made during the first few weeks in the new environment.
Our occasional informal gatherings are a perfect time for exchange, when we have a glass of beer, water or wine and talk about anything and everything. Everyone is welcome! We look forward to meeting you.
