Regional Group Erlangen-Nuremberg

Eine Gruppe von DAAD-Stipendiaten spaziert durch die Innstadt Nürnbergs. Sie unterhalten sich angeregt.

Science and Culture Meet History and Nature

Do Nuremberg, Erlangen and Bayreuth belong together? Yes, they do – in our regional group! Anyone who is interested in walking tours, boat trips, guided city tours, cross-cultural exchange and much more is always very welcome. We look forward to meeting you!

Our regional group covers the towns of Erlangen and Nuremberg, as the name suggests, and also Bayreuth. As a result and due to many excursions and our collaboration with other regional groups, we have a broad base. Travelling has become something of a habit for us!

DAAD Alumni & Friends is a great opportunity for me to share experiences with others, to discover Germany and to have a good time.

We mainly go on day trips to nearby cities, such as Regensburg, Augsburg, Bamberg, Ingolstadt and, of course, Munich. We often organise joint activities with the regional group in Munich. Apart from the excursions, we meet regularly in town to go bowling, to watch films together, to have a barbecue or simply to spend time together. There is always something to discuss, even if it is just a matter of planning the next joint excursion.

We welcome not only international scholarship holders, but also alumni from the region. We look forward to new members, lively discussions as well as suggestions and ideas for future activities. We also enjoy discovering something new in our beautiful Middle Franconia and beyond.

“DAAD supported me as a Master student in Germany. The opportunity to establish international contacts and open up new perspectives won me over to the idea of the DAAD Alumni & Friends.”
