Discover Nature and Culture in Brandenburg Together

Visit the UNESCO world heritage site of Potsdam, enjoy cultural highlights in Berlin, go on leisurely hikes and sports excursions by bike or by boat – we look forward to some wonderful trips with you!

We organise a trip for you nearly every month, even in the semester break. When you join our cultural activities and sports events, you will meet other international scholarship holders from the universities in Potsdam and Berlin as well as German alumni and friends. You can help organise the programme yourselves!

I love taking part in the trips organised by DAAD Alumni & Friends in this wonderful region! Fun, friends and enjoyment are guaranteed!

A museum tour at night, a boat trip with gherkins and blankets through the Spreewald, a journey back through time at Tempelhof airport, at the Teufelsberg communications intercept station or at the Sachsenhausen memorial site, cycle tours through the Potsdam lake area and cultural landscape, hikes through the autumn leaves or with objects of art at the wayside, exhibitions and movies…these are just some of our past excursions.

Most of our events are half-day or full-day trips. We often take a picnic or go to a cosy café. We also organise events in English or for families with children. When we go on cycle tours, it is always possible to hire a bike at the start of the tour. Come and join us – it’s worth it!

„During the time of the fall of the Berlin Wall I was studying in Chicago with support of the DAAD. I now look foward to giving international DAAD scholarship holders an understanding of the many symbols of German-German history in Potsdam and Berlin.“
